The Path of the Righteous Gentile

I was not a big fan of the Bnei Noach
movement.  I, believing that I was a member
of the Northern Kingdom, thought being a
Bnei Noach was what Gentiles were.
And I was NOT a Gentile.             more

What Was Elijah's "Work"?

In the book of Malachi we read:

Behold I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD; and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. From this we see that in the end times Elijah's work must be completed. What was Elijah's work?

Elijah was a prophet to the House of Israel (The Northern Kingdom also known as the Lost Ten Tribes) He spent his life trying to turn the House of Israel away from idolatry and back to God.

Remember, when he confronted the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, he was confronting his fellow ISRAELITES and not pagans from a neighboring nation.

All of the prophets point to an end time when the House of Israel returns from exile. Messiah will arrive after the House of Israel returns. This will happen when the Lost Tribes repent of their idolatry. The hearts of the fathers (the House of Judah) must turn to the children (the House of Israel) Judah must be willing to teach Israel as she returns. And the House of Israel must be willing to be taught.
